Promotion of nature and environmental activities and focus on sustainable tourism
The City of Copenhagen can become a leading municipality for green business development and sustainable tourism, if we choose to. Though, it requires political will.
I am therefore working towards:
More nature areas to strengthen biodiversity. Biodiversity is beneficial for both the climate and people. There should be more space for wild plants, insects, and birds, for example, by turning lawns into flowering meadows, creating green corridors through the city, and establishing new small forest areas.
Projects that combine nature conservation with citizen involvement and learning for children and young people. The green transition fosters community. Green projects where children and young people can learn about nature, climate, and sustainability through activities such as school gardens, nature workshops, and volunteer care groups in local areas can also strengthen local communities.
Promotion of green tourism focusing on nature, history, and local experiences. I want to support the development of green experiences that show the city at its best: bike tours through urban nature, guided walks in historic neighborhoods, and local businesses promoting food, art, and culture with a low climate footprint.
Strengthening partnerships between local businesses, associations, and the municipality to create climate-friendly solutions. I want to strengthen partnerships across businesses, civil society, and the municipality, with a focus on green innovation. This can be achieved through climate projects or green business networks that share knowledge and solutions.
